I had to post this picture for good measure. Here's the scoop: My father wakes me up one morning about week before I leave to go to Nicaragua. And he asks me with the most serious expression, "Do you have evacuation insurance?" Groggily, I reply,"I don't know. Why?" "Because if you were to fall off a volcano or injure yourself in any other way, would there be a helicopter ready to come in a evacuate you out of the country and bring you home?" I checked his face to make sure that he was serious. Maybe it was a combination of all the adventure movies he had seen and his masculine thing for taking advantage of big toys, such as helicopters.
Two days later he had me sign the insurance.
For most of the trip, I assured everyone that if they were to get hurt, they could borrow my evacuation insurance. This sign made me think of my dad and his A-Team mindset.
